Realistic View of Sayyas Harbin Factory

Plan to be a pioneer in the field of passive ultra-low energy buildings

"Currently, energy conservation and consumption reduction have become a vent in the construction industry," Bian Keren said. However, Sayyas has already found the right direction at this tuyere. In 2014, the passive ultra-low energy consumption green factory built by Sayyas in Harbin was completed. The factory has passed the air tightness test in Germany, obtained the PHI certification, and was awarded the title of "the world's largest passive factory" by the Guinness World Records. Its auxiliary office building has won the honor of the "13th Five Year Plan" national key research and development plan near zero energy consumption public building demonstration project. As the largest passive factory in the world, the construction of this factory also faces many difficulties. Bian Keren said that the project is located in a cold area, and among public construction projects, it belongs to a single super large near zero energy consumption building. At that time, there were almost no comparable buildings to be used for reference, and it can only be explored by combining theory.

Windows are the "black hole" of energy consumption in buildings, and how to solve the problem of external window openings can be said to be the biggest difficulty in passive rooms. Due to the project's location in severe cold regions, the P120 passive window originally developed by Sayyas is no longer applicable. Therefore, Sayyas has independently developed a P160 passive window with a slightly lower heat transfer coefficient, which conforms to the characteristics of low temperature and large outer window area. At the same time, Sayyas also introduced the insulating glass production line of Swiss Baichao, which was the first four-glass three-cavity insulating glass production line in Asia at that time to meet the mass production of P160 passive windows. During the construction process of the project, there are also problems such as large areas of insulation on the roof, various types of equipment on the wall, and thermal bridges at the dust removal and exhaust openings. The Sayyas R&D team has used its own technology to solve these problems one by one.

The establishment of Sayyas passive factory explored characteristic design and construction schemes for exterior wall insulation, roofing, flooring, exterior windows, and fresh air pretreatment in severe cold areas, and achieved good technical results. The P160 passive aluminum clad wooden window with four glasses and three cavities independently developed and produced by Sayyas provides strong product support for passive buildings in cold regions in the outer window segment. At the same time, the overhanging components of the facade curtain wall of the factory's auxiliary office building are made of German Rolex reinforced glass fibers, which have the characteristics of insulation, heat insulation, cold free, thermal bridge tension, shear resistance, and frost resistance, and have been tested and identified to meet the specification requirements. In addition, the factory's fresh air pre-treatment system is equipped with a low-temperature resistant heating system to avoid the possibility of freezing and cracking of the coil pipes of the fresh air pre-treatment unit due to various sudden failures, misoperation, and other factors. With the proposal of the "dual carbon" goal, the establishment of the factory is an important exploration to promote the green and low-carbon development of domestic buildings, and also a beneficial attempt for Sayyas to further develop into zero carbon buildings in the industry.

Follow the trend and create exquisite architectural exterior windows

Since the implementation of the "dual carbon" policy in China, building energy conservation and consumption reduction has gradually become a hot topic in the construction industry. Relevant policies have been introduced in various regions, and the prospects for passive ultra-low energy consumption buildings in China are very broad. In order to seize market opportunities, Sayyas firmly adheres to the industrial layout of "consolidating the north and expanding the south", constantly strengthens and consolidates the advantageous markets in the north, and then advances from north to south.

In July 2020, Sayyas Nanjing Plant was put into operation. The completion of the Nanjing factory has become an important production base for Sayyas air-conditioning windows and an important milestone in Sayyas's north-south communication strategy. Centered on two major production bases in Harbin and Nanjing, Sayyas has moved towards markets in North China, East China, Northwest China, and Southwest China, and has successively participated in the construction of more than 120 passive ultra-low energy consumption building projects in China.

Realistic View of Sayyas Nanjing Factory

In order to adapt to the development of the social situation, Sayyas has launched a building exterior window product suitable for all climate regions - Cool 8 degree x139. This product has passed the A-level certification of PHI in Germany, and the heat transfer coefficient U reaches 0.6. This product uses aerospace grade composite profiles as its main load-bearing members. In addition to possessing thermal insulation properties, it also has advantages such as anti-corrosion, mothproof and deformation resistant, slim and fashionable frame, and can carry intelligent systems. It is not only suitable for passive ultra-low energy consumption buildings, but also suitable for modern fashionable home design. In order to enable customers to use green, environmentally friendly, comfortable, and energy-saving products, Sayyas strictly controls product quality. Each product needs to undergo 230 quality inspection points, including wood moisture content testing, paint moisture resistance testing, and aluminum scratch 100% testing, covering 106 processes such as wood processing, aluminum processing, and paint polishing. At the same time, it has created a wooden window "ID card" system that can track and trace any quality issues.

Energy conservation of doors and windows is one of the economic and effective means to achieve energy conservation in buildings and reduce total carbon emissions in society, which also confirms the correctness of Sayyas's adherence to the field of energy conservation and carbon reduction. As a full-chain window enterprise specializing in the research and development, design, production, sales, and follow-up services of energy-saving aluminum clad wooden window products, Sayyas strives to overcome the difficulties caused by practical conditions, devotes itself to the research and development and production of energy-saving window products, and combines years of accumulated experience and product data to strive to meet the needs of passive ultra-low energy consumption everywhere in terms of performance and architectural adaptability.

Editorial Department of "Green Building": Could you please talk about your understanding and views on passive ultra low energy buildings?

Bian Keren: Actually, it can be understood that passive ultra low energy consumption buildings are "buildings that store heat and cold similar to thermos bottles.". Passive ultra-low energy consumption buildings use thicker exterior wall insulation, high-performance doors and windows, and good air tightness. In winter, they absorb more heat from the sun, and in summer, they use external shading and thermal insulation. In addition, they make reasonable use of renewable energy, significantly reducing energy consumption. With minimal use of air conditioning and heating, they achieve a healthy and comfortable indoor environment, making them a more suitable type of building under the current climate warming and excessive energy consumption environment.

In the context of "dual carbon", passive ultra low energy buildings are bound to be one of the development directions of the construction industry. According to the "14th Five Year Plan" for Building Energy Efficiency and Green Building Development, by 2025, more than 50 million square meters of ultra-low energy consumption and near zero energy consumption buildings will be built. Considering the current situation, there is still a lot of room for improvement. Therefore, the development prospects of passive ultra low energy buildings are very promising.
