Designer and God & Designer and People - Bian Shuping Gave a Speech at the 8th Interior Designer Ningbo Conference in China

  A good house should be energy-saving, environmentally friendly, comfortable and healthy, warm in winter and cool in summer. ‍ I am engaged in the window industry, so I would like to say that there is no shortage of houses in China, what is lacking is good houses, and good houses cannot last without good windows.‍ Thank you!

  My PPT is just one page. I'll just talk about two points. The first is designer and god, and the second is designer and people. I feel that designers and I are in two different worlds. I am very curious and admire designers, but it is difficult for me to enter your world. It is a shame to say that when I applied for college entrance examination, I applied for Tongji University as my first choice, but I failed ‍‍. I felt puzzled, because my score was much higher than the admission standards of Tongji University! Later, I found out that the department of Urban Design that I applied for as my major only admitted one student from the three provinces in the northeast of China. It is harder to enter than Tsinghua or Peking University. As a result, ‍‍ I was admitted in my second choice, the department of Thermal Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology. I studied heat transfer, radiation, heat conduction and convection. It looks like I'm not destined for design. Then I was engaged in the window industry. It's a good use of what I've learned So, in my share today, I will talk about it briefly. Please forgive me if I'm wrong.

  What kind of group are designers? One day I read the 40th chapter of Tao Te Ching, "The cyclic movement and change is the movement of Tao, and the effect of Tao is subtle and weak. Everything in the world is produced from visible material, which in turn is produced from invisible material." What does "Fan" mean? "Fan" is circular. It is the essence of society and the world; "Ruo" means weak. It can overcome the strong;‍‍ All things in the world are produced from visible material, which in turn is produced from invisible material. The theme today just popped into my head - designers are people who "turn the invisible into visible." The word is used here in a positive sense. Designers can design everything from a spoon to a city. If we give an architectural designer a piece of land, a master like Ieoh Ming Pei, he can create a building unlike any other. "Zao Hu Yong Yi Wei Shi, Dang Qi Wu, You Shi Zhi Yong. Gu You Zhi Yi Wei Li. Wu Zhi Yi Wei Yong. "When we build a house, put doors and windows on it, ‍give it to an interior designer, and then you have a completely different space beyond your imagination. Isn't that something turning invisible into visible? Those who can do this are not ordinary people. They are born with knowledge.

  So what does "Wu" mean? The answer lies within ourselves. The 42th chapter of Tao Te Ching, "Dao Sheng Yi, Yi Sheng Er, Er Sheng San, San Sheng Wan Wu. "Tao gives birth to Yin and Yang, giving birth to all things. What we talk about "Wu" is Tao. The 4th chapter of Tao Te Ching says, "Dao Chong Er Yong Huo Bu Ying, Yuan Xi Si Wan Wu Zhi Zong. Cuo Qi Rui, Jie Qi Fen, He Qi Guang, Tong Qi Chen. Zhan Xi Si Huo Cun, Wu Bu Zhi Shui Zhi Zi, Xiang Di Zhi Xian‍. "It's probably mean, "Tao" is like a big container, but its contents and fields of application are inexhaustible. "Tao" is the origin of all things. In the process of our continuous understanding, we should constantly kill the sharp part of understanding, eliminate the differences of opinion, integrate the brilliance of various views, and finally form a common point of view. "Tao" seems to exist, but it's also unfathomable. We do not know how the Tao came into being. It seems to be before heaven and earth came into being. ‍

  The 14th chapter of Tao Te Ching says, "Shi Er Bu Jian, Ming Yue Yi; Ting Zhi Bu Wen, Ming Yue Xi; Bo Zhi Bu De, Ming Yue Wei. Ci San Zhe Bu Ke Zhi Jie, Gu Hun Er Wei Zhi. Qi Shang Bu Jiao, Qi Xia Bu Wei, Shen Shen Bu Ke Ming, Fu Gui Yu Wu Wu. Shi Wei Wu Zhuang Zhi Zhuang, Wu Wu Zhi Xiang, Shi Wei Hu Huang. Ying Zhi Bu Jian Qi Shou, Sui Zhi Bu Jian Qi Hou. Zhi Gu Zhi Dao, Yi Yu Jin Zhi You. Neng Zhi Gu Shi, Shi Wei Dao Ji. "It means, what is invisible is called "Yi"; what cannot be heard is called "Xi"; what cannot be touched is called "Wei". These three are not clear, so they are mixed into one. It is not light above, and not dark below. The obscurity is indescribable, and then it returns to nothing. That is, it has no shape, no image, and this phenomenon is called "Hu Huang" Facing it, you can't see its head; following it, you can't see its tail. If we use this ancient "Tao" to control existing things, we will know the origin of ancient things. This is the law of "Tao". In the Tao Te Ching, there are many such chapters. Even after a long time, they didn't make it clear what "Tao" is. By ‍ Lao Tzu, "Tao" is a question mark.

  Confucius is a great philosopher and educator. Confucius says: Zhao Wen Dao, Xi Si Ke Yi. It means that it is worth dying at night if you have a thorough understanding of the Tao in the morning. This shows that Confucius did not know what the "Tao" was. It seems that we can't know what "Tao" is from Confucius and Lao Tzu;‍ Then is it clear in the Book of Changes? The Book of Changes begins by saying, "Wu Ji Sheng Tai Ji, Tao Ji Sheng Liang Yi, Liang Yi Sheng Si Xiang, Si Xiang Sheng Ba Gua, Ba Gua Ding Ji Xiong, Ji Xiong Sheng Da Ye. "In fact, this sentence is a copy of the 42 chapters of Tao Te Ching. "Liang Yi" means Yin and Yang, ‍ "Wu Ji" means Tao, "Si Xiang" and "Ba Gua" are all things in the world. Lao Tzu is also the successor of the Book of Changes. "Wu" means Tao. so what does "Tao" means? ‍ There is such a book in the world that I suggest everyone to read. It was written by more than 40 authors over the course of two thousand years ‍ This book has not changed a single word to this day, which is the Bible. The Bible should be a manual for human beings, which is not thought out by human beings but inspired by God. Gospel of John 1:1 says, ‍‍ Tai Chu You Dao, Dao Yu Shen Tong Zai. Tao is the god. Here's the answer. What is Tao? Tao is the god. What is god? God is the creator of all things. The word "‍‍Tai" in Tai Chu You Dao should be studied carefully. It is very interesting. It consists of "Da" and" Dian ", just "Da Dian" for short. How big can it be? It can be either infinitely large or infinitely small. This ‍‍ is "Tao". I found the answer from the Bible.

  What kind of group are designers? Where do they get their inspiration? It comes from all things. True beauty lies in nature. God made heaven and earth. So the first thing I talk about is designer and god. Designers are a different group. You are inspired by God. You are the interpreters of beauty. You are the people who bring beauty into life. Therefore, I said, the designer is the spokesman of God about beauty, and god is the greatest designer. That's the first thing I talk to you about.

  A few days ago, I read an article on the plane. It said that the generation after 95s has entered the Z era. What is the biggest characteristic of the Z era? Appearance level is everything. It is life and justice. Life is precious, ‍‍ but love is even more. These two can be thrown for appearance level.‍ ‍ Appearance level does matter. The appearance level of Sayyas's products is also great. Do not take the Sayyas's aluminum-clad wood air conditioning windows as the northeast red. In fact, wood window products are chameleons. It can carry the designer's pursuit of appearance level. But what I want to tell you is that the function is more important than the appearance level. The appearance level without the function is not good enough, just like now I am still shivering here. It is not a good feeling. This is the second thing that I want to share with you - design and people. Beauty is valuable only when it is used.

  On September 22, 2020, at the 75th General Debate of the United Nations, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the "3060" plan, which aims to achieve emission peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. This is our commitment to the world. China's economy is 67% the size of the US, but we emit more carbon than the US, EU and UK combined.‍ ‍ ‍‍ If we want to make good on our promise, we have to get excited and build and renovate good houses that are energy-saving, environmentally friendly, comfortable and healthy;‍‍ use good windows with lower U values and keep the house airtight. China has 70 billion square meters of buildings in stock, most of which are neither energy-saving nor heat-insulating nor airtight. They waste too much energy every year and have very low comfort levels, causing great harm to the earth. In 2012, Sayyas launched the first window matching passive ultra-low-energy buildings in China, and is the earliest promoter of passive buildings in China. Today, Sayyas has formed a complete passive window product system. \We will spare no effort to do our utmost to prevent the global temperature rise. We regard "blocking climate change with air conditioning windows" as our common vision, and take "Extremely Reduced Consumption, Extremely Beautiful Life" as our mission, striving to be an enterprise with "love and warmth". 'People create environments through their lives,' Kenya Hara said. 'The wisdom in that is design.' Design is the work of making people understand the essence of things. So here I am very sincere initiative to you: when you struggle for the appearance level, you must first pay attention to the real needs of people, make renovation of the house, make the wall more heat-preserving and insulating, sealing and sound insulating, and make the window more energy saving and environmentally friendly. Our world cannot afford any more carbon emissions. Polar bears, penguins, walruses and other species may all disappear by the end of the century if the earth heats up by 1℃. Therefore, as a designer, we must give consideration to beauty and functionality, and design our house into energy-saving, environmentally friendly, comfortable and healthy, warm in winter and cool in summer, and durable. Durability includes two meanings. One is to make the house more ‍‍ durable, and the other is to make the people living in it live longer. Thank you!
