Recently, at the "ACT 2023 (First) International Zero Carbon City Conference and Zero-energy building Expo", many experts and representatives from the industry and academia launched a series of discussions on the implementation path technology of low-carbon healthy buildings and other topics.


Xie Yuanjian, Vice President of China Building Energy Conservation Association, shared the green technology transformation paths of different business types of projects, with the goal of health, comfort, energy conservation, and low-carbon, and proposed ideas and suggestions for green and low-carbon transformation of existing buildings. In his view, there is a huge space for the renovation of existing buildings. Currently, passive buildings, distributed renewable energy, and intelligent technologies are increasingly widely used in the green upgrading and renovation of existing buildings.


Xie Yuanjian was one of the first practitioners in China to engage in the green building industry. He also served as the Chief Technology Officer and founding partner of Langlu Technology, a green technology solution service provider. He stated that there is a huge space for energy conservation and carbon reduction in existing buildings, which is crucial for achieving the "dual carbon" goal in the construction industry, but the current market demand has not been fully met.


From the current situation, the current technological level of the enterprise has reached the international advanced level. However, the Chinese market is relatively large, and green buildings have not yet reached sufficient scale and quantity. "Xie Yuanjian mentioned that construction enterprises and the development of the real estate industry are inseparable. In the past, the wealth logic of real estate practitioners was realized through land transactions, while ignoring people's needs for living environments. In recent years, with the encouragement and supervision of national low-carbon policies, the concept of green health has gradually penetrated into people's hearts, especially as more and more urban residents begin to pay attention to living conditions.


In 2022, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development issued the 14th Five Year Plan for Building Energy Efficiency and Green Building Development, which clearly states that by 2025, new buildings in cities and towns will be fully built into green buildings, building energy utilization efficiency will be steadily improved, building energy consumption structure will be gradually optimized, building energy consumption and carbon emission growth trend will be effectively controlled, and a green, low-carbon and circular construction and development mode will basically be formed, To lay a solid foundation for achieving carbon peak in the field of urban and rural construction before 2030.


The plan also proposes that by 2025, more than 350 million square meters of existing buildings will be energy-efficient, more than 50 million square meters of ultra low energy consumption and near zero energy consumption buildings will be built, and Prefabricated building will account for 30% of new urban buildings in that year.
