The new national standard Technical Standard for Zero-energy building is seeking comments

On July 24, 2023, the website of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development of the People's Republic of China (MOHURD) released the "Notice on Public Consultation of the National Standard Zero-energy building Technical Standards (Draft)", and the deadline for feedback is August 18.

This standard is formulated to achieve the national goal of carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, reduce building energy demand, improve energy utilization efficiency, create a healthy and comfortable indoor environment, develop renewable energy and zero carbon energy building applications, and guide buildings and areas with buildings as the main carbon emissions to gradually achieve low-carbon, near zero carbon and zero carbon emissions.

The standard is applicable to the design, construction, operation and judgment of new and existing low-carbon, near zero carbon, Zero-energy building and areas.

In addition, the design, construction and operation of low carbon, near zero carbon and Zero-energy building and areas shall comply with the provisions of this standard, as well as the provisions of current national standards.
