Recently, Tangshan City issued the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the High-quality Development of Green Buildings", making it clear that by the end of 2025, the city's new urban civil buildings will be built in accordance with green building standards, and the proportion of star-rated green buildings will not be less than 50%.

"Green buildings refer to high-quality buildings that save resources, protect the environment, reduce pollution, provide people with healthy, suitable and efficient use of space, and maximize the harmonious coexistence between man and nature in the whole life cycle." Tangshan City Housing Bureau building energy conservation and technology director Peng Qiang introduced.

According to the implementation opinions, Tangshan City will promote the large-scale development of green buildings, accelerate the development of building industrialization, improve the level of building energy efficiency, promote the green transformation of existing buildings, increase the application and promotion of green building materials, increase the proportion of clean energy application, improve the seismic level of construction projects, promote innovation-driven development, and strengthen the whole process management of green buildings. We will promote the high-quality development of green buildings.

It is understood that on October 12, 2022, Tangshan was approved as a national pilot city for government procurement to support green building materials to promote the improvement of building quality. "Since the approval of the pilot city, Tangshan has explored the establishment of green building materials standards, green building materials procurement support rules, and a series of management norms for green building materials application." Peng Qiang said that on this basis, Tangshan will steadily improve the energy-saving standards of new buildings, actively carry out the construction of ultra-low energy consumption demonstration projects, and promote the industrial progress of high-efficiency energy-saving doors and Windows, high-performance insulation materials, exterior wall insulation integration materials, new walls and envelope structures.

On January 5, in the production workshop of Tangshan Huateng Technology Co., LTD., a batch of new products came off the production line. "This is a ceramic wool self-insulating ALC (autoclaved aerated concrete) board produced with fly ash as raw material, which has obtained the qualified test report issued by the National Building Materials Testing Center and has entered the stage of promotion and application." Ma Lihong, chief technical engineer of the company, said that this product is not only ultra-thin, but also ultra-low thermal conductivity, which fully meets the building requirements of passive houses, and is a new green building materials product.

In recent years, Tangshan has emerged a number of new green building materials production enterprises represented by Huateng Technology. "Increase the application and promotion of green building materials, Tangshan will support basic institutions to apply for green building materials certification, promote green building materials certification capacity, gradually expand the proportion of green building materials certification, and promote green building materials production enterprises to the park, group, professional development." Peng Qiang said that in order to improve the reduction of construction waste and the level of resource utilization, Tangshan also encourages the research, production and application of construction waste recycling products.

"The 'green' in green buildings is not only reflected in the building materials, but also applied to the construction method. Prefabricated buildings are a business card of green buildings in Tangshan City." Peng Qiang said that prefabricated buildings refer to buildings assembled by prefabricated parts on the site, which can be recycled and reused, and meet the requirements of applicability, economy, safety, green and aesthetics.

The development of prefabricated buildings in Tangshan city has a solid foundation and broad space. "As an important industrial town, Tangshan has a solid foundation for the development of manufacturing industry, and the three main materials of the prefabricated construction industry - steel, cement, sand and stone aggregate, can be sourced locally here." Peng Qiang said that as the first batch of prefabricated building demonstration cities in the country, the proportion of prefabricated buildings in Tangshan in 2023 reached 27.32% of new buildings, achieving large-scale development.

Relying on urban renewal, sponge city construction, old residential renovation and other projects, Tangshan will also promote the green transformation of existing buildings, while promoting the existing building energy conservation transformation, heating metering transformation, living environment improvement, building safety improvement, convenience improvement.
